Welcome from the President

Thanks for having a look at Vulcan’s November newsletter. As we settle into a welcome – but different – Thanksgiving week, I am pleased to introduce Ryan Peck, who joins Vulcan Steel Structures as Executive Vice President.

Ryan comes to us with a long list of accomplishments in the metal building industry and follows in his father’s footsteps. One major factor that drew him to our company is his desire to provide the customer with the highest product value and the best possible service. These are core values at Vulcan and make him an excellent match with our team. He inspires others to succeed and works to enable them to do just that. Welcome aboard, Ryan!

Our building of the month is an interesting one. It’s a new Copart facility in Gastonia, North Carolina, for which Vulcan is providing the metal building. Copart is a worldwide company and we are pleased they have chosen us to give them the exact structure they need. It is being constructed by Wilson-Covington Construction Company. We’ve worked with them before and they are an excellent choice for any size project.

We are also excited to offer a look at the many videos that the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has on its YouTube channel. These videos, all of which are free, are a great resource for anyone interested in learning more about metal buildings. Read more about them below and have a look!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Until next time,
Steve

Vulcan News: New EVP Ryan Peck

Vulcan Steel Structures is excited to announce Ryan Peck has joined the company as Executive Vice President. He is a 25-year veteran of the metal building industry and has previously served as District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, General Manager, and Vice President of Operations for several major metal building manufacturers.

“I am excited to join a company that shares my values of product quality, service to the customer, and relationships with its business partners,” notes Peck. He adds, “It is a great feeling knowing I am joining a leadership team where we each have over 25 years of experience in the metal building industry.”

Peck graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1995. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married since 1997 and they have three children: Samantha, Alexa and James. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, traveling and watching his kids play sports.

Featured Project: Copart, Gastonia, North Carolina

Copart is a provider of vehicle auction and remarketing services in the U.S. and across the globe. The company offers vehicle sellers a range of services to process and sell salvaged and clean-title vehicles online, using its patented virtual auction technology. In order to provide these services, it has over 170 locations across the U.S. Its newest location is currently under construction in Gastonia, North Carolina, and utilizes a metal building provided by Vulcan Steel Structures.

The new Copart facility is being constructed by Wilson-Covington Construction Company, headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Wilson-Covington was founded in 1947 and has worked with Vulcan on several building projects prior to this. While being able to handle any size project, the team at Wilson-Covington takes pride in its commitment to providing the same level of quality and professionalism, regardless of size.

The Gastonia location will have a metal building with metal roof and wall panels that has multiple offices and an attached warehouse and service area with multiple bays. When it opens it will hold thousands of cars that can be turned around quickly and with the highest level of attention.

“What Do You Know About Metal Buildings” is a quick introduction to the
