Excitement fills the air in Port St. Lucie, Florida, as construction progresses on a groundbreaking project set to elevate the pickleball experience to unprecedented heights. Leading the charge as the chosen construction management company, Stevens Construction has entrusted Vulcan Steel Structures to deliver the metal building, solidifying the project’s commitment to excellence while embodying innovation, quality and craftsmanship in construction.
Spanning an impressive area of 121’ x 242’ x 26’ and boasting a 1.5:12 roof slope, The Pickleball Club at St. Lucie West epitomizes sophistication with its clear span design upheld by straight columns. Not only does this architectural choice maximize space, but it also ensures optimal playing conditions within. The facility’s durability and contemporary allure are further enhanced by the inclusion of 24 GA SL216 roof panels and 26 GA PBR Kynar wall panels.
Construction excellence transcends mere functionality at The Pickleball Club. Designed with the comfort and well-being of its patrons in mind, the facility features spandrel beams providing essential support for masonry elements. Additionally, a Simple Saver Insulation System ensures optimal temperature control and energy efficiency, underscoring the club’s commitment to sustainability and responsible construction practices.
On the ground floor, patrons will find 12 champion pickleball courts, locker rooms, a pro shop and café, catering to every aspect of the pickleball experience. Meanwhile, the second-floor mezzanine, spanning 3,852 square feet, houses the Players’ Lounge, along with the upstairs bar and club offices. In total, the building encompasses 33,293 square feet of meticulously designed space, ensuring every visitor’s needs are met with precision and care.

Gus Bachman, a recent addition to Vulcan Steel Structures, takes pride in joining a company that prioritizes customer satisfaction and ensures a seamless buying experience. With a fresh perspective, Gus demonstrates a genuine commitment to nurturing strong client relationships.
Outside of work, Gus enjoys outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing, and he maintains a regular gym routine. Additionally, he dedicates time to volunteering with the SPCA to support animal welfare initiatives.
Originally from Texas, Gus spent 12 years in the state before relocating to Savannah, Georgia. He is a graduate of Valdosta State University, where he also played football.
