Vulcan Teams Up on Imagine School’s Gym Project

Vulcan Steel Structures is proud to have been chosen as the manufacturer for a new 160′8″ × 119′9″ × 29′0″ clear-span gabled gymnasium at Imagine School in North Port, Florida. The facility is one of two full-sized gyms included in a new K–12 campus scheduled to open for the 2026–2027 school year.

The gymnasium is designed to support both school and community use. It will host basketball games, PE classes, assemblies, and extracurricular events, while also serving as a multi-use space outside of school hours.

Key design features include:

  • Vulcan’s 22-gauge SL216 standing seam roof panels for superior strength and leak resistance in Florida’s high wind conditions
  • Stucco/EIFS wall finishes to match the architectural style of surrounding campus buildings
  • Twelve integrated basketball goals, eliminating the need for floor-mounted units and maximizing open space
  • PBR interior liner panels, offering both durability and a clean aesthetic for sports patrons.
  • “Supermarket-style” rigid–frame columns, with consistent depth to 14′–6″ AFF before tapering toward the rafter, providing increased space in the bleachers while improving frame efficiency
  • Energy-efficient insulation systems that meet all codes, including R-30 Simple Saver roof liner and 4″ VRR+ wall insulation

The gymnasium is part of a larger campus development that also includes classroom wings, cafeterias, playgrounds, athletic fields, and a running track—making it a central piece of student and community life for years to come.

Vulcan is proud to be trusted for projects of this scale, delivering high-quality, efficient building systems that builders and communities can rely on.

Buildings That Schools and Communities Can Count On

Public projects demand buildings that last. Metal building systems deliver with:

  • Durability for decades of use
  • Energy efficiency to cut costs
  • Low maintenance over time

From gyms to multipurpose halls, steel is the smart, cost-effective choice.
