Adel, Georgia, June 11, 2025 – Vulcan Steel Structures, Inc., a leader in the metal building industry, is proud to celebrate a major milestone: 40 years in business. Since its founding in 1985, the company has delivered over 28,700 projects to customers around the world and plans to continue the momentum of its first 40 years for many decades to come.

Over the past 40 years, Vulcan Steel Structures has shipped metal buildings to 48 U.S. states and international destinations including Romania, Turks and Caicos, and Equatorial Guinea. Vulcan has designed and manufactured metal buildings of all shapes and sizes, delivering projects as large as 194,120 square feet in a single phase. Known for their ability to expand upon their work, the largest multi-phase project the team has completed is the 950,000-square-foot Shinhwa manufacturing facility in Auburn, Alabama. Thanks to four decades of experience in design, detailing, and fabrication, Vulcan Steel Structures has successfully completed numerous Class 10 projects, the highest level of complexity on the Metal Building Manufacturing Association’s (MBMA) scale.

“It’s been an incredible journey, and we owe our success to the dedication of our employees and the trust of our customers,” said Steve Browning, President and CEO. “Building for 40 years is a privilege, and we’re proud to be part of so many communities across the country.”

Vulcan Steel Structures has received widespread industry recognition including notable awards from MBMA such as the 2020 Safety Performance Award, the 2022 Superior Safety Award, the 2022 Volunteerism Award, and the 2024 Volunteerism Award.

A staple of the metal building industry that has helped make Adel, GA the “steel building capital of the South,” Vulcan Steel Structures draws its origins beyond its 40 years of operation. Beginning his metal building career in 1970, founder Billy Browning quickly made a name for himself in the industry. After establishing a variety of steel businesses, Billy Browning founded Vulcan Steel Structures in 1985. Steve Browning, his son, joined the business in 1988 and has served as President and CEO, leading the company through continued growth and expansion.

Now celebrating 4 decades in the industry, Vulcan Steel Structures continues to deliver innovative and expertly manufactured metal buildings for clients across the nation –from schools and churches to manufacturing facilities and aviation hangars. Vulcan Steel prides itself on delivering a quality product, delivered on time – a commitment that the team plans to honor for another 40 years.
