Engineered for Access

AquaTerra Boat & RV Storage, Lehigh Acres, Florida

Vulcan Steel Structures recently completed a 10-building boat and RV storage project designed to balance functionality, durability, and architectural appeal. To keep the storage bays fully accessible for boats and RVs, Vulcan engineered a torsion portal frame solution in place of traditional X-bracing, maintaining unobstructed access without compromising structural performance.

Additional architectural features, including eave canopies, parapet end walls and custom-designed fencing enhance the facility’s functionality and overall appearance.

Project highlights include:

  • 10 custom-engineered buildings
  • Galvalume PBR roof panels
  • Light Stone PBR wall panels
  • Torsion portal frame solution for unobstructed boat and RV access
  • Eave canopies for added protection from sun and rain
  • Parapet end walls to conceal roof slopes
  • Custom-designed PBR panel fencing with cold-formed framing

Successful Projects Start Before Fabrication

Many of the best design solutions are identified long before steel is fabricated. Early collaboration can help address:

  • Access requirements for oversized vehicles and equipment
  • Efficient framing solutions for open storage bays
  • Architectural features that enhance appearance
  • Future expansion opportunities
  • Long-term building performance

Early involvement of Vulcan’s engineering team helps identify practical, efficient solutions that align with project requirements and owner goals.
